Element has an excellent opportunity for a STOCK CONTROLLER based at t heir busy laboratories in Deeside. The Stock Controller will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the tracking of shipments, maintaining the appropriate stock levels and resolving any discrepancies in receipt of stock to ensure efficient and seamless laboratory operations. The role must collaborate closely with the Logistic Manager and the Finance and Procurement Departments. Element Deeside is the largest analytical chemistry laboratory within the Element Group and the market leading UK laboratory undertaking the testing of soils, waters, wastes, oils, NAPLs, ambient air, soil vapours and gases from all over the world. The laboratory undertakes high volume routine analysis as well as offering bespoke method development, technical support and hydrocarbon forensic interpretations to enhance the support we can deliver. The laboratory has an international reputation for service excellence and supports clients that require a higher level of technical expertise, reliability in data quality and seamless project management from sample collection to timely delivery of data. Promotion of and compliance with company health and safety requirements, adoping a proactive safety attitude to ensure the safety of all colleagues Care for own and colleagues Health and Safety and be prepared to stop work rather than to proceed with working in unsafe conditions Ensure optimum levels of stock using Stockboss to manage orders, check and amend stock levels Support senior members of staff to manage the lab areas workload and to ensure efficient deliveries of consumables Drive process and systems development to improve ownership, efficiency and accuracy within the inventory management process, highlighting data exception reporting requirements and implementing improvement initiatives Generate management reports to assist the Company with stock management policies, including decisions on slow moving and aged stock, ensuring that every item of inventory has a clear owner Support the Logistics Manager with warehouse duties as required Highlight storage and throughput constraints and make recommendations to address potential issues and oversee the implementation of assigned improvement initiatives Ensure all inventory risk is captured and shared with Finance and Procurement to enable financial provisions to be identified as well as initiating the material requisition/end of life process for write-off project and aged inventory Participate and contribute to team performance by engaging in team meetings and taking an active part in problem solving activities Work collaboratively with peers and colleagues and apply learnings from identified training and development activities required to perform the role Supporting a LEAN and 5S culture within the laboratory Effectively communicate with co-workers Knowledge of the supply chain and understanding of key logistic activities Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise FLT licence Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Problem solving mindset Previous Stock Control Experience is essential Proficient in inventory management systems Attention to detail: Critical for maintaining accurate stock records and resolving any discrepancies Self-motivated and reliable: Able to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines Team player: Proven ability to work well in a team and adapt to various tasks and challenges Flexible: Willing to work overtime as needed to meet operational demands Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
