We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Nurse who is passionate about delivering high standards of nursing care to ensure a positive patient experience. You must have excellent communication skills and be prepared to work in a busy and sometimes challenging environment.
The role is for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to work in the Clinical Operations Team as a Transfer Nurse supporting the safe transfer and movement of our patients through the hospital. You will be supported by the Clinical Site Matron and work alongside Healthcare Assistants and Porter colleagues to safely transfer our patients predominantly out of the Emergency Department and Urgent Care wards.
The core hours for this post are 08:00 - 18:00 over the 7 days. The ability to work as part of a team and a commitment to give high-quality care whilst adhering to trust values and behaviours is essential.
Main duties of the job
The role of the nurse/midwife is to provide a holistic, high quality, patient focused, comprehensive, efficient and safe service for the patients cared for at Kettering General Hospital, acting with responsibility, accountability and integrity reporting adverse events and poor practice to the person in charge. The nurse/midwife would be expected to effectively and responsibly use resources and engage in change and service improvements. Standards of practice at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KGH) are aligned to the standards set out by the Nursing & Midwifery (NMC) Code: Standards of conduct, performance and ethics for nurses and midwifes (2008). The post holder may be required to rotate through other wards and departments as required to support Trust business and patient care. The post holder will act at all times in accordance with the NMC code and local standards of care and policies.
