Your Role as a Senior Night Care Assistant In this crucial role, you will lead our night care team, ensuring residents are comfortable, safe, and well-supported during the night hours. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering exceptional care: Assisting residents with personal care routines, mobility support, and night-time comfort, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect. Monitoring well-being: Conducting regular checks to ensure residents are safe, comfortable, and settled throughout the night. Providing emotional support: Offering reassurance to residents who may feel unsettled or require companionship during the night. Leadership and supervision: Overseeing the night team, delegating tasks effectively, and ensuring all team members provide consistent, high-quality care. Administrative duties: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, updating care plans, administering medications, and conducting night audits to ensure compliance with standards. Health and safety: Responding promptly to emergencies or incidents, ensuring all actions are taken to safeguard residents and team members. Team support and development: Offering guidance, mentoring, and appraisals for the night staff to maintain a motivated and skilled workforce. What We’re Looking For To thrive as a Senior Night Care Assistant, you’ll need a blend of leadership, compassion, and attention to detail. Specifically, we’re seeking someone who: Has proven experience in a senior or supervisory role within a residential or nursing care setting. Holds or is working toward a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care. Exhibits strong organisational and communication skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with colleagues and residents. Demonstrates proficiency in care documentation, medication administration, and compliance with care standards. Can remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions during challenging situations or emergencies. Is flexible and reliable, with the ability to work regular night shifts and adapt to the needs of the home. Is dedicated to continuous improvement, eager to enhance skills and support the development of the night care team.
