Job Summary:
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and busy team, within the workshop in Cambridge. The role’s main focus will be to fabricate, repair and maintain medical devices for prosthetics and/or orthotics that are issued within the department to patients. Ideally, we would like someone with experience in prosthetic and orthotic manufacture but will also accept those wishing to start in the industry as a trainee.
Key Responsibilities:
* To prepare and assemble/build medical devices as required by the Prosthetist/Orthotist according to the requirements of the Prescription or Works Order.
* To ensure prosthesis or orthoses issued to patients are manufactured satisfactorily and provided in a timely manner.
* Ensuring correct materials/components are issued for the job and that appropriate tools are available.
* To assess the Prescription/Works Order and understand the nature of its requirements and ensure that finished products comply with any associated Measure Charts, manufacturer’s instructions etc.
* Ensure manufacturing activities are undertaken in compliance with company/site H&S and Quality procedures & regulations.
* Liaise with the NHS manufacturing staff where appropriate.
The role will be instrumental in helping to develop and implement service improvements for the betterment of patients in Cambridge. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and busy team and be supported with local, regional, and national training to develop their clinical skills to support the service.
