This role involves supporting claims handling, research, and administration, including assisting with P&I and Non-P&I matters, preparing materials and reports, managing claims systems, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure effective claims processing and business development.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities will include:
* Responding to general enquiries and providing support for claims-related queries.
* Assisting with claims handling, including personal injury, cargo claims, and pre-load surveys.
* Conducting research to support claims and general activities.
* Preparing and maintaining presentation materials, spreadsheets, and databases.
* Assisting with the administration, filing, and drafting of P&I and Non-P&I matters.
* Monitoring and progressing the setup of claims in internal systems (Acclaim, Quaystone).
* Maintaining a log of safety and loss enquiries dealt with by the team.
* Collaborating with teams in FD&D, Underwriting, Loss Prevention, and other sectors.
* Supporting business development, networking, and maintaining an inclusive team environment.
* Contributing to continuous improvement of claims processes.
About you
Skills/Qualifications/Experience
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Effective problem-solving skills.
* Efficient and effective administration skills.
* Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to cope with demanding workloads.
* Legal knowledge (law degree or equivalent).
* Technical expertise (mariner) or prior experience within the maritime industry preferred but not essential.
* Understanding of the basics of P&I claims and the P&I insurance industry.
* Some understanding of P&I Rules.
* Basic knowledge of shipping terms and common ship operations.
* Basic knowledge and experience in dealing with P&I/Non-P&I matters.
