Role Overview:
As a Secondary ECT, you will be integral in providing high-quality teaching across the curriculum, encouraging academic achievement and personal growth. Working alongside experienced staff, you will receive continuous support and mentorship to enhance your teaching practice. Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the needs of students across various subjects, in line with the national curriculum.
* Assess, monitor, and record students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
* Create a stimulating and engaging classroom environment that encourages active learning and student participation.
* Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans to ensure that all students, including those with additional learning needs, are supported.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices for teaching and learning.
* Participate in school-wide initiatives, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
* Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being.
* Support the pastoral care and personal development of students, encouraging good behaviour and respect for others.
Requirements of the Secondary ECT:
* A relevant degree in Education or the subject area you wish to teach (i.e. Secondary Education, English, Maths, Science, etc.).
* A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, having completed or be in the process of completing an initial teacher training programme.
* A genuine passion for teaching and helping students achieve their full potential.
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and teaching methodologies relevant to your subject.
* Ability to engage students and create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a dedication to building positive relationships with students and colleagues.
* A proactive approach to professional development and a willingness to embrace new teaching strategies.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
