Quality Manager - APQP

Working for a growing engineering business that has been transitioning from R&D into mass production, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all APQP deliverables to condensed timescales, coaching global engineering teams on DFMEA, PFMEA, Control plans, etc., and owning the product quality from concept through to high volume production.
Key Responsibilities – Quality Manager
* Develop and manage APQP plans for each new project and prioritise tasks to ensure a high-quality product to meet customer expectations.
* Support supplier quality as required during ROW audits, problem resolution, and PPAP approvals.
* Liaise with customers to lead and support problem investigation and resolution, presenting findings in 8D format as well as updates on Quality deliverables and plans.
* Manage and oversee non-conformity database, embedding and coaching in best-practice problem resolution.
* Carry out internal audits against relevant standards such as IATF 16949 / ISO9001.
* Process ownership of non-conformity management and advanced quality processes.
* Champion, coach, and lead continuous improvement activities throughout the business globally.
Required Skills: Quality Manager
* Excellent experience in APQP across either Automotive, Aerospace, Medical devices, Semiconductor/electronics, Heavy Equipment/Machinery, Consumer goods, or Energy/Renewables.
* Degree in engineering – Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, etc.
* Expert in core tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Control plans, MSA, PPAP, SPC.
* Trained internal auditor for ISO9001 minimum – ideally IATF 16949.
* Expert in root cause analysis (able to facilitate and guide in tools such as 5 whys, Ishikawa, cause and effect).
* Able to manage and prioritise conflicting tasks and demanding workloads with cross-functional, global engineering teams and clients.
* Excellent problem solving & root cause analysis skills.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills to coach, lead, and drive quality improvement across the business.
