General Secondary LSA
An exciting new opportunity has become available with new Directions to work as a learning support assistant in Cardiff secondary schools.
This role offers flexible working to suit you offering work life balance, as well as the opportunity to secure long term roles or day to day cover.
To be successful in this role you will need to be confident working with small groups of children and 1-1 to assist with any work they have been set, have a compassionate and caring approach and be able to adapt learning approaches to individuals. Good communication skills are vital in order to communicate well and work closely with the teachers and other members of staff.
Ideally we ask for 3 months minimum experience working with children, or have a child based qualification. We do consider candidates who have transferable skills, this means having experience working in social care, coaching or nursing.
You will need:
1. A minimum of 3 months child-based experience
2. Contactable references
3. A Child and Adult DBS – or be willing to undertake one via New Directions
4. A willingness to complete mandatory training when required
