How you'll make a difference
As an Emergency Service Officer, you will make a difference by enabling residents to remain living independently in their own homes.
You will coordinate a rapid response service ensuring the efficient provision of emergency and urgent personal care, welfare visits to South Gloucestershire residents, enabling them to remain living independently in their own homes.
What will you be doing?
1. You will review, assess, and implement emergency personal care packages for new and existing service users, promoting independence and delivering a high standard of personalised care.
2. You will coordinate an immediate response to Telecare and Carer’s emergencies, using your specialist knowledge, skills, and experience to respond to complex situations.
3. You will need to assess service users with complex needs in emergency situations out of hours, and compile and implement short-term care packages to be reviewed by the appropriate daytime services. If unmet needs are identified during assessments or reviews, you will decide on the most appropriate response.
4. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all responders in your team have a Care Certificate where necessary and that all are up to date with supervisions, team meetings, and training.
This is an ad-hoc contract, but you will be asked to cover out-of-hours shifts:
* Monday - Thursday: 16.30 - 22.15
* Friday: 16.00 - 22.00
* Saturday, Sundays & Bank holidays: 8.00 - 15.00 or 15.00 - 22.15
Casual hourly rate: £17.59
What we need from you
1. You must have a recognised and relevant professional qualification, e.g., Dip Social Work, NVQ 4 in Social Care (with management components), and be registered with the appropriate authority where applicable.
2. You will have knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
3. You may also have knowledge of the processes and procedures of an emergency response team.
Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding areas, so you must have a full valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or alternative appropriate means of travel.
