About the Department:
SOAS Library is one of the world's most important academic libraries for the study of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The Library attracts scholars from all over the world to consult its holdings and further their research. The Library houses over 1.3 million volumes together with a major collection of archives, manuscripts, rare books, an expanding Digital Library, 500 art objects and a growing network of electronic resources. The Library manages SOAS Gallery and exhibition spaces within the library and offers a lively programme of events.
About the Role:
The Engagement Librarian will take responsibility for Library outreach, communications and events. The postholder will be instrumental in lifting the standard of user experience and engagement across all library service points whether online or in person. The Engagement Librarian will work closely with the Library’s operational managers to grow usage of services, spaces and experiences. A culture of continuous improvement and support innovation, outreach and community building is key to the success of this role.
