Job Summary Reporting to the Head of Income Generation, the Senior Fundraising Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the fundraising team of the Hospice, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence and inspiring the team to achieve challenging income targets. The post holder will ensure income is tracked against targets and will drive individual KPI achievements. The role will work closely with the Head of Income Generation to develop and nurture corporate partnerships and Major Donors. Key responsibilities Team Management To provide strategic guidance, support and management to the fundraising team, ensuring income targets are met or exceeded through effective planning, innovation, and collaboration. The Senior Fundraising Manager will lead key income generation initiatives, nurture corporate partnerships, and support the development and execution of fundraising events, while fostering a high-performing team culture. Support the Head of Income Generation in the leadership of the Income Generation team. Provide day to day management, coaching support and development to the fundraising team, ensuring that clear team and individual objectives are in place and providing guidance to ensure targets are met. Conduct regular performance reviews, setting individual KPIs and supporting fundraisers to meet and exceed their income targets. Manage staff performance and support staff development needs. Support the Head of Income Generation in the leadership of the Income Generation team, providing day-to-day management, coaching, and development for fundraisers. Research and design mutually beneficial corporate offers to attract new partnerships. Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate funding opportunities, diversifying income streams. Maintain strong relationships with existing corporate partners, ensuring high engagement and long-term support. Develop and nurture corporate partnerships to drive income, with strategic support and guidance from the Head of Income Generation. Research and develop a strong, mutually beneficial, offer to corporates. Work to identify, cultivate and secure new corporate funding opportunities to diversify income streams. Maintain strong relationships with existing corporate partners to ensure high levels of engagement and long-term support. Events Fundraising Support Provide guidance and support to the Community and Events Fundraiser, ensuring effective planning, organisation, and delivery of fundraising events. Collaborate with the fundraising team to enhance event strategies, secure sponsorship opportunities, and drive participation. Ensure a seamless and engaging experience for event participants and community fundraisers, fostering long-term donor retention. Provide leadership and support to the Community and Events Fundraiser to ensure that fundraising events are effectively planned, organised and delivered to achieve maximum income generation potential. Collaborate with the fundraising team to enhance event strategies, identify sponsorship opportunities and drive participation. Ensure a seamless experience for event participants and community fundraisers, contributing to effective donor engagement and retention. Operational Support and Compliance Oversee compliance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice, including the Fundraising Regulators Code, Charity Commission guidelines, GDPR, and The Gambling Commission. Support the Head of Income Generation in the annual budget-setting process and ongoing budget management. Prepare and present timely reports, insights, and advice on income generation to the Chief Executive, Income Strategy Committee, and Board of Trustees. Represent the organization professionally at external events, enhancing its profile and reputation. Oversee fundraising operations to ensure that all fundraising activities are compliant with the highest professional and ethical standards, best practice and all relevant codes of practice and legislation (e.g. the Fundraising Regulators Code of Fundraising Practice, The Gambling Commission, Data Protection and the Charity Commission). In conjunction with the Head of Income Generation, support the annual budget setting process and the ongoing management and monitoring of fundraising budgets. Support the Head of Income Generation with the preparation and presentation of timely reports, information and advice on income generation matters to the Chief Executive, Income Strategy Committee (ISC) and Board of Trustees, as required. Professionally represent the organisation both internally and externally to positively maintain and enhance the profile and reputation of The Shakespeare Hospice. Data-Driven Strategy Use data analytics to monitor fundraising performance, participant engagement, and donor behaviours. Evaluate event outcomes and apply insights to improve planning and strategy. Maintain accurate records of activities, participants, and outcomes in systems such as NXT and Enthuse. Key Responsibilities Senior Manager As a member of the leadership team, develop an understanding of the remits and responsibilities of other senior colleagues and interdepartmental dependencies. Take the lead, as appropriate, in the absence of colleagues. Attend Income Strategy Committee meetings as required Participate in the Hospice on-call rota. Take part in the hospice locking /securing of the building rota. Represent the Hospice at appropriate events, both internal and external, at the discretion of the CEO. Participate in other duties as required of Senior Managers. Other Participate in the annual appraisal programme. Adhere to all Hospice policies and procedures. Complete mandatory and relevant training as identified with the Chief Executive Promote the work of the Hospice, reflecting the vision and values.
