Job Description:
This role is for a Mechanical Engineering Manager at a pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Liverpool. You will lead a team of mechanical and process engineers to manage all engineering tasks and data within the business. Your responsibilities include designing and developing mechanical and process engineering aspects of machinery according to project specifications, schedules, regulations, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage mechanical and process engineering teams in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and chemical industries.
* Ensure timely handover of design documentation to relevant departments.
* Lead team activities and development.
* Plan weekly workloads considering contract status, tasks, resources, and risks.
* Lead Contract Design Reviews, Risk Assessments, and approve design documentation.
* Ensure designs comply with industry standards such as ISO 9001, PED, ASME U Stamp, and ATEX.
* Oversee detailed and process design activities within internal procedures and data management software.
* Support specification of ancillary equipment.
* Report on monthly KPIs.
* Collaborate with Electrical/Controls teams on equipment design and integration.
* Prepare and approve specifications for mechanical materials and equipment.
* Perform design calculations ensuring compliance with client and industry standards.
* Research industry trends and explore product innovations.
* Manage non-conformances, root cause analysis, and preventative measures.
Requirements:
* Mechanical Engineering Degree or HND with experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
* Proficiency with General Arrangement Drawings, 3D Modelling (SolidWorks preferred), and related documentation.
* Attention to detail with knowledge of tight tolerances and interfaces.
* Understanding of manufacturing technologies like fabrication, welding, and machining.
* Experience managing engineering teams and projects.
* Commercial awareness for market viability and budget adherence.
* Strong communication skills.
Remuneration:
