Health & Safety Manager - Northampton
Pertemps is looking for an experienced H&S professional to join our client based in Northampton.
This role will be pivotal in driving a positive health and safety culture across our site influencing staff daily.
This role will be a stand-alone role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.
Salary: £38,740.00 - £43,652 (DOE)
Hours: 9am-5pm
Duties:
1. Implementing a positive culture of Health & Safety.
2. Raising awareness of Health & Safety across the company and promoting safe working practices at all times.
3. Monitoring all reported incidents and accidents, completing investigations as required, ensuring all reporting requirements have been completed and action is taken if appropriate.
4. Ensuring that the Accident computer-based recording system is maintained and reports are generated.
5. Ensuring a proactive approach and compliance with health and safety legislation.
6. Liaising with and cooperating with the company insurers.
7. Liaising with external agencies such as HSE, Fire Authority, Environment Agency, and Environmental Health.
8. Carrying out regular safety audits and inspections.
9. Managing and organizing training in conjunction with HR to ensure compliance with legislation such as First Aid and Fire Warden training.
Requirements:
1. NEBOSH Certificate in OH & S or equivalent qualification.
2. Full driving licence.
3. Experience working in a similar role.
4. Experience in providing briefings/training to individuals and teams on Health & Safety matters.
5. Ability to write accurate reports for a variety of stakeholders.
6. Ideally, experienced with liaising with external enforcement agencies.
