We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team in Romsey, helping to make a real difference in the learning and development of our pupils. Role Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with the class teacher and support team to assist students with a range of special educational needs. You will provide personalised support, ensuring each child has the opportunity to thrive both academically and socially. Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA): Implement Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs) to address individual student needs effectively. Assist with behavioural management strategies to promote positive conduct and a supportive learning atmosphere. Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation and engagement from all students. Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure seamless support for students with special educational needs. Monitor and document student progress, sharing insights with the educational team to facilitate ongoing improvement. Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA): A genuine enthusiasm for working with children with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, or Emotional and Behavioural Challenges. Relevant experience in a similar role; prior work in education, healthcare, or social care settings is advantageous. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills, empathy and a proactive attitude. Patience, empathy and a passion for supporting all students. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
