About the role
We have a phenomenal opportunity for an expert Procurement Manager to join the Tesco procurement team!
This role requires extensive procurement category experience, with particular strengths in labour services preferred.
This position is pivotal in delivering commercial excellence to support meaningful business budgets.
You will be responsible for
1. Developing and delivering procurement strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers & partners internationally.
2. Implementing projects aligned with Tesco transformation priorities.
3. Providing opportunities for personal development in procurement through fast-paced transformational projects.
4. Writing and executing the procurement plan for your assigned services and products.
5. Improving existing services, seeking specialization and automation enhancements.
6. Acting as the go-to person for partners on strategy development.
7. Leading supplier reviews and managing contract-related concerns.
8. Building strong relationships with internal and external partners to understand and influence requirements.
9. Assessing new and existing suppliers for sustainability, risk minimization, and service optimization.
You will need
* Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration and partner engagement.
* A proven record of implementing change through influence and challenge.
* High standards of ethics and integrity, with a focus on personal and team development.
* At least three years of procurement/buying experience, preferably in Retail or Labour Services.
