Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Geography Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Totnes. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, inspire students to develop a love for natural sciences and the environment, and contribute to their academic success.
1. Plan and teach Geography lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
2. Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level exams, ensuring they achieve their academic targets.
3. Monitor and assess student progress, offering personalized feedback and support.
4. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
5. Work collaboratively with the school's Geography department and other staff to share best teaching practices.
6. Engage in the wider school community and participate in extra-curricular activities when required.
Geography Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. A degree in Geography or a related field.
3. Previous experience teaching Geography at secondary level is preferred, but strong NQTs are also welcome to apply.
4. Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
5. A passion for teaching Geography and inspiring students to reach their full potential.
6. Flexibility and willingness to commit to a long-term position.
