HPC Compressed Air Systems service engineers are responsible for accomplishing installation, maintenance and repair tasks on HPC or customers compressed air equipment to the required standards. The primary objective is to ensure the continued safe, reliable operation of the equipment by achieving, and striving to exceed, the standards of engineering set by company and ISO procedures and requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
* Carry out hands-on preventative and reactive maintenance of compressors and related systems and components.
* Service Engineers must adhere to manufacturers approved maintenance procedures and the instruction of the Service Manager.
* To work in a safe manner in accordance with the Company's Health & Safety policy and to work within customers own safety rules when on customer sites.
* A Service Engineer will also be expected to work on delegated tasks without supervision using their own initiative.
* Service Engineers are expected to apply sound engineering practises to their duties and to fully communicate their actions. The Quality of maintenance accomplished by Service Engineers will affect the safety and operational reliability of the equipment. Failure to meet standards will impose a cost penalty on HPC, which could be combined with poor customer satisfaction and perception of HPC quality of service.

* To promote a good image of the Company to all its customers.
* To be responsible for all company property (i.e. tools, overalls, spare parts etc.) that are issued either for personal use or completion of specific tasks and to comply with the company's vehicle policy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Service engineers are responsible for planning and completing maintenance tasks delegated to them in a cost effective, timely manner ensuring that such work is accomplished to the required HPC/Kaeser/ISO/Customer standards.
* Accomplishing tasks as directed, ensuring compliance with procedural and documentary requirements.
* To complete accurately and submit without delay all Service Reports, Time Sheets and other documents needed for the smooth operation of the Service Department.
* To be flexible in undertaking various tasks in order to optimise the labour available in the Service Department.
* Service Engineers must maintain full and responsible communications with the customer and HPC concerning their allocated jobs and movements. The integrity and honesty of a Service Engineer is an eminent factor in ensuring a safe, effective operation.
* Manage and control personal overtime in accordance with instruction from line manager.
* Takes ownership in fostering an atmosphere of “Safe Working”, ensuring colleagues understand their responsibilities and obligations in contributing to a safe working environment. Play an active supporting H&S reps.
* To undertake training on products new or old when required, both in the UK and Germany.
* To be available for emergency out of hours duty as per the emergency call-out rota.
* To use company issued clothing/overalls and wear these at all times during working hours, ensuring they are clean and presentable.
* To be flexible in undertaking other duties as may be required from time to time in order to meet the needs of the company.
* To mentor colleagues who are less experienced, either in general or in relation to specific tasks.
* Maintenance tasks carried out in time/ timely fashion and within policies and procedures.
* Successful/accurate completion of checklist/POWRA.
* Correct service report handling and sign off.
* Keep accurate record of work completed via timesheet.
* Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety Policy requirements.
* Overtime/ time off/ expenses managed within policy guide lines.
* To administer the allocated maintenance activities in varied and sometimes difficult circumstances or in an uncomfortable environment.
* Varying workloads and requirement to adapt to rapidly changing operational scenarios.
* Must be able to prioritise effectively to deliver agreed plans.
* Work as part of a team who are of different abilities and experience, communicating effectively, and ensuring a consistent standard in line with company policy.
Decision Making:
* Problem solving on technical and safety issues.
* Support and work to achieve action plans ensuring objectives are met on time.
* Knowing when to escalate issues.
Skills:
* Demonstrable adaptation to changes in working practices and environment.
* Good working knowledge of efficient working practices/techniques and able to recommend improvements to working practices.
* Be knowledgeable of and compliant with current Health and Safety Procedures.
* Possess a working knowledge of company procedures.
* Working knowledge of relevant company IT systems.
Qualifications & Experience (min level of requirement):
* A formal technical training by means of apprenticeship or equivalent is required together with a minimum of two years practical experience working without direct supervision.
* Possess a sound engineering background, with relevant experience, demonstrating clear and effective hand skills and thinking.
