Ambulatory care is an innovative way of providing a safe, patient focused, flexible, same day emergency service for appropriate patients. The service aims to prevent unnecessary hospital admission and provide a better patient’s experience. Our Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) offers easy access to early diagnostic tests, specialist staff, and review by a hospital consultant in one place.
We are looking for an exceptional, committed, caring and compassionate Band 7 Enhanced Practitioner to join our dedicated multi-disciplinary team. The successful applicant will be forward thinking, pro-active and motivated to assist in providing the highest standard of care to our patients possible whilst treating our patients with dignity, compassion and respect. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work within the ACU team.
The post holder will practice at an Enhanced level within a multidisciplinary team supporting the Consultant led Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) directorate. The post holder will be able to clinically manage undifferentiated and undiagnosed patients presenting to their area(s) of work within a defined scope of practice. This clinically focussed role will result in the post holder providing exemplary patient-centred and evidenced based care to patients. The post holder will provide clinician advice and support to junior clinicians during a span of duty.
Successful applicants will possess the Advanced Clinical Assessment module, or equivalent and have experience of working within an acute medical or emergency care setting or have experience of working at an enhanced level of practice.

Clerking and assessment of patients attending Ambulatory Care Unit who have been referred via the Emergency Department, Primary Care or Ambulance Services.
Requesting and interpreting diagnostic investigations.
Planning and providing appropriate treatment plans and ongoing referrals.
Supporting the nursing team by providing clinical leadership.
