The Category Manager UK&I –is accountable as part of a team for the development, management and maintenance of a resilient and sustainable set of procurement initiatives that provide Swissport with a competitive advantage in all markets in which it operates, enabling the company to realise its growth and profitability targets. The Procurement function is required to be a trusted, value-adding business partner to the performance. Swissport operating divisions, delivering an annual RoI that matches or exceeds peer performance. Size and scope: Part of a team with accountability for the management of £90m of Goods, Materials and Services external expenditure annually. Responsibilities Apply the Swissport Corporate Procurement Process Support the Head of Procurement in establishment and implementation of sector category strategies; including planning strategies for purchase, identification of suppliers, development of sourcing plans, implementation of procurement strategies together with associated procurement plans, to meet the needs of each Business Division within the overall Procurement strategy. Category Management of designated category groupings; leveraging Swissport buying power, relationships and expertise to ensure all goods, materials and services are supplied at the lowest total cost of ownership. Within scope of procurement responsibility, ensure that specification requirements are understood and that procured goods, materials and services offer best value against specified requirements. Facilitate the cross transfer of knowledge and expertise across different contracts /projects / sectors / divisions of the business. Report on project and category procurement cost savings. Support the Head of Procurement in the management of the supplier review process, including development and implementation of the Goods and Materials supplier development roadmap and programme to maximise the measurable value delivered through the Swissport supply chain. Identification of forward purchasing needs, in liaison with the business operating divisions. Liaison with Transaction Services in relation to supplier data in SAP, enabling the business divisions to place orders. Lead and develop the risk management philosophy for the procurement of goods and materials. An ambassador in driving the Swissport ESG agenda with our suppliers. Qualifications Experience Significant procurement experience in a broad range of indirect & direct categories inc Support Services and Built Environment. Experience in the procurement of corporate services / soft and hard business / building services subcontracts and materials. A track record in conducting firm, fair and ethical negotiations with supply chain. Ability to demonstrate a successful track record in delivering procurement cost savings.
