Job Description
Our Streets Team have a vacancy in our central Manchester office for an Associate Director with relevant experience in leading the delivery of a broad range of traffic and highway engineering projects and being responsible for work winning activities. The successful candidate will share our ethos of developing impactful design solutions and delivering high levels of service to assist with the growth of our Manchester and Northern Streets business by enhancing existing and developing new client relationships.
The Streets team provide feasibility, concept, preliminary and detailed design, community engagement, project delivery and construction management services on a wide range of multi-discipline transportation and urban realm projects. You will be joining a strong team who are recognised as market leaders in the transportation sector including in active travel, public transport, bus priority and general traffic engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client relationship building - develop sound client relationships, being alert to commercial opportunities, identifying emerging opportunities and developing strategies to fully exploit them.
2. Work winning - prepare detailed proposals, client briefs and fee proposals and contribute to or lead bids.
3. Project leadership - act as a Project Director and Project Manager including monitoring financial performance and key performance indicators.
4. Technical leadership - ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief.
5. Team management – be a pro-active Line Manager, managing career progression of line reports.
6. Team leadership - support the Streets North senior management team.
7. Internal relationship building - establishing strong working relationships with other internal teams across AECOM’s business lines.
Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
1. A successful track record in the management and delivery of a portfolio of traffic engineering projects, particularly sustainable infrastructure projects.
2. A successful track record of delivery of bids and proposals and proven ability to manage and grow a team.
