Closing Date: Thursday, 28 November, 2024 - 23:45
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time
Details of Role:
OTR Bristol are looking for an engaging, knowledgeable and dedicated Youth Mental Health Practitioner to join our team based within the CAMHS Intensive Outreach Team (CIOT). This role involves working in collaboration with NHS colleagues to deliver an Intensive Outreach Service for young people up to 18 years old.
The successful applicant will help deliver a robust package of care that will support young people up to the age of 18 who are in crisis or who are requiring intensive support. The role involves delivering a variety of psychoeducational interventions informed by therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Systemic Family Therapy.
A creative approach is required to engage and support young people who are often high risk and have struggled to engage with interventions such as talking therapies. An ability to build therapeutic relationships with young people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds is paramount to this role.
The primary base is at Campbell House, BS2 8HR, Bristol. However, we cover a large area and you will be required to work across different CAMHS teams in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. A driving licence is therefore required as well as access to suitable transport (either a car or willingness to use pool cars).
As a CIOT service we proactively engage in Anti-Oppressive Practice through CPD, discussion and meetings in order to make the workplace a safe place for all colleagues and a service that is accessible for all young people.
The successful applicants will receive regular access to supervision/reflective spaces to support and aid development and wellbeing, as well as great opportunities to develop clinical and professional skills through training opportunities provided by AWP and OTR’s internal training program. OTR also offers a generous annual leave policy and a holistic wellbeing support package for all staff.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community and are committed to developing a team that reflects the diversity of the people we work with.
A Willingness to Work with Difference
At OTR, whatever your role or professional background, you will be expected to work in a way that is anti-oppressive and inclusive. A key focus for OTR is to develop an organisation that is inclusive for all but we do not claim to be experts in this. We are committed to continuous learning and improvement in these areas and invite you to join us on this journey.
