Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for you to come and join our very successful and revered Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service at Barnet Hospital. We are looking for a nurse who has experience in IBD, ideally having worked as a clinical nurse specialist previously.
The IBD service is well-established and is predominantly nurse-led, managing complex patients, biologics, and advice lines. We are a growing team. It is a good opportunity for those who are passionate about IBD care and wanting to expand their experience in IBD.
The post holder will provide an autonomous inflammatory bowel disease service using advanced clinical judgement and knowledge of the specialty. You will be required to lead and innovate nursing practice within inflammatory bowel disease both within the Trust and through local networks.
As the clinical nurse specialist in IBD, your role will also be to support the wider MDT members and provide support, advice, formal and informal education. This is a fantastic opportunity where you can really make a difference to patients' lives.

This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented, you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales, and any back pay will be adjusted accordingly. Experience
* Band 6 in an acute nursing setting
* Teaching/supervision of other health care professionals
* Experience of MDT working with complex IBD patients
Skills
* Ability to develop training programmes for other health care professionals, patients, and families in the care of IBD
* Ability to design, implement, and audit standards of care
* Proven communication skills and ability to negotiate
* Skills & knowledge in managing and supporting patients with IBD
* Knowledge of current advances in IBD
* Knowledge of research and audit methodology to degree level
