What will you be doing?
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our dynamic team, working in a state-of-the-art facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the hand assembly and soldering of electronic PCBs, Micro Integrated Circuits, substrates, and general assemblies to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hand assembly and soldering of electronic PCBs, Micro Integrated Circuits, substrates, and general assemblies to ESA (European Space Agency) and MIL SPEC standards, including ECSS-Q-ST-70-08C, ECSS-Q-ST-70-38C, or the latest ECSS-Q-ST-70-61 certification.
* Working with analogue, digital, and radio frequency type products.
* Adherence to Clean Room disciplines and procedures, including ESD (Electrostatic Discharge).
* Operating manufacturing tools and machines, such as cleaning tanks, tape bonding machines, and vacuum attachments.
* Use of chemical adhesives, epoxies, and glues, including precise weighing, mixing, and traceability control.
* Understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and health and safety controls.
* Working from electrical drawings, wiring schedules, and BOMs (Bills of Material).
* Maintaining accurate work records and documentation for full traceability of products, parts, and workmanship.
* Using SAP company electronic business tools.
* Working on prototype wiring and new product development, often unsupervised and based on minimal information and verbal instruction.
Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
* Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar).
* Exceptional manual dexterity and the ability to work with fine components under magnification.
* A high standard of quality workmanship and attention to detail.
* Ability to work with binocular microscopes to ensure precision in all tasks.
* A solid understanding of electrical drawing interpretation and product assembly.
* Trained in the use of associated manufacturing processes and tooling.
