Senior/Principal Embedded Software Engineer - UEFI
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Salary: £70,000 to £80,000 basic + excellent benefits package

The Role
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of the BIOS, BSPs, and additional software for the company's new and existing products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, develop and maintain the software in the UEFI BIOS.
2. Board Support Packages for cutting-edge Intel processor-based boards.
3. Middleware, system and device driver software for Linux, Windows, VxWorks and other standard operating systems.
4. Support in the definition of product and software architecture.
5. Taking a hands-on approach to early hardware bring-up.
Required Experience
1. Experience in developing UEFI BIOS.
2. Proficient in Embedded C programming for x86, PowerPC or high-performance ARM processors.
3. Practical experience programming a variety of hardware devices at register level.
4. Good appreciation of hardware.
5. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Desirable, Non-Essential Experience
1. Experience developing low-level, embedded software for Linux or a similar operating system.
2. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git.
3. Experience in leading technical projects or working as a technical lead in software development.
4. Ability to drive technical decisions and provide input into the future direction of the platform’s architecture.
This role offers hybrid working on a weekly basis.
