Job title: Head Housekeeper
£13.00 per hour
This role is for 30 hours per week with alternate weekends
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide leadership, line management and support to the housekeeping team
* Be a visible and positive role model for excellent practice by leading and coaching the housekeeping team
* Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and comfort for customers throughout the village
* To work in accordance with Belong standards and values, ensuring a culture and environment where people feel supported and valued
* Ensure that cleaning and laundry tasks are allocated to maintain the required standard
Supporting Responsibilities:
* Carry out appropriate audits and routine checks to ensure that all communal areas are clean and well-presented and that all outstanding cleaning has been completed; completing and maintaining records as required
* Responsible for ensuring that all equipment and products are stored and used in line with guidance and Belong policy
* Responsible for ordering and stock control of cleaning supplies
* Develop and promote good working relationships with colleagues, customers, professionals and visitors
* Ensure staffing levels and skill mix are maintained, planning rotas to ensure work schedules are met
* Contribute to the recruitment, selection and planning of induction for new team members
* Work with the village management team to resolve any cleaning issues within the village; investigate and resolve complaints/ customer feedback where required
* Involve customers where appropriate in domestic and laundry activities relating to maintaining their personal care and accommodation
* Ensure all furniture and equipment is clean and in good working order; reporting any defects or risks immediately
* Ensure that customers are receiving an excellent laundry service and that clean linen and clothing is returned to the appropriate household storage, customers room or apartment
* To work flexibly as part of the team to ensure the daily housekeeping service requirements are maintained 7 days a week by providing cover for sickness and holidays as required
* Ensure relevant infection prevention and control procedures are followed at all times, delivering training as appropriate
* Report any safeguarding concerns whether informed or witnessed to senior colleagues without delay
