We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a Full Time, Permanent basis.
As a Store Manager, you will manage the day-to-day running of our Widnes Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so, you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.
Location: Unit C, Upton Rocks District Centre, Fir Park, Widnes, Cheshire, WA8 9BD
Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to work on a rota basis which will include weekend, evening, and bank holiday working.
Please note that as the store receives a large number of donations, there is a need for the successful candidate to work at pace, with adaptability, and also have experience in handling and moving high volumes of stock on a daily basis.
Some key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
* Maintaining the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's at all times.
* Implementing promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.
* Maintaining a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.
* Ensuring there is adequate stock available on the shop floor at all times, on all key lines.
* Providing training, development, work reviews, and appraisals for paid staff to enable them to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
* Creating an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
* Actively recruiting the correct/specified number of volunteers to deliver the store's objectives and KPIs.
* Ensuring all financial, cash handling, and security procedures are adhered to as per the Barnardo's Manager's Manual and relevant Retail procedures.
* Holding the shop keys, ensuring that the shop is secure whenever it is left unattended.
Ideal Candidates Must Have:
* Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
* Experience in managing people.
* Ability to liaise and respond to a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
* Ability to meet the needs of customers on a face-to-face basis to generate sales and increase customer usage of the shop.
* Ability to perform basic arithmetic to maintain budgets and complete accurately weekly income/banking sheets.
* Ability to handle cash and reconcile accurately.
* Proven experience of meeting targets and KPIs.
* Basic IT skills.
