The role and school This large primary school are looking to recruit an adaptive and nurturing Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 with an ADHD diagnosis. This is an exciting opportunity for a devoted Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who is ready to make a long-lasting, positive influences on the pupils’ learning outcomes and their wellbeing. The role will vary from day to day working within the classroom and supporting the Year 2 pupil with the ADHD diagnosis on a one-to-one basis. The Year 2 pupil with ADHD will individually require additional support to help them address the challenges they face on a daily basis. The Year 2 class teacher have observed that in the lessons they are struggling to sit still, stay focussed on tasks and to wait their turns. In order for this pupil to succeed in their learning, the ideal Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant needs to effectively observe the techniques the school staff use when they are interacting with the Year 2 pupil. The Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will also need to provide individualised support and adapt their teaching or learning styles in order to meet the Year 2 pupil’s needs. Requirements To be considered for the SEN Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will: Have experience of working with primary aged children. Have Level 2 or above in a Teaching Assistant course. Be able to form and develop strong working relationships with staff, parents and pupils. Have a caring and responsive approach to all pupils.
