JUNIOR BUYER - FMCG

£30,000 - £35,000 dep on experience + excellent benefits
Mon - Fri 08.30 - 5.30 - 40 hours
Due to growth, a very successful, independent, family orientated FMCG retailer, with over 330 stores, is seeking a Junior Buyer to join their Procurement Team in the Head Office in Birmingham. It's a fast-paced environment where you will be working alongside a Senior Buyer, given guidance and training, and be ultimately responsible for managing your own categories.
The Junior Buying role will involve:
1. Developing and maintaining good relationships with suppliers, ranging from global FMCG brands to small family-run businesses.
2. Negotiating and agreeing prices and trading terms, placing orders in line with demand.
3. Creating a balanced commercial plan based around growth and reviewing ranges.
The ideal person will have:
1. Previous experience of working as a Buyer in a Purchasing or Buying environment - ideally within FMCG.
2. Commercial and market awareness and the desire to further develop knowledge and skills.
3. Excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
4. Ability to work at a fast pace and confident in making commercial decisions.
