Summary
Actemium UK has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Health and Safety Officer on a permanent basis. Your main responsibilities are to provide the business unit (Daventry) with guidance and support in relation to compliance with our SHEQ management systems and compliance with our legislative obligations. Actemium Daventry is a fast-paced fabrication workshop that requires weekly visits to ensure safety compliance is adhered to. Our mechanical team also requires an on-site presence to provide coaching and mentoring to employees in relation to the use of our SHEQ management systems. You will monitor and review the implementation of our SHEQ management systems via audits and inspections and positively challenge the effectiveness and suitability of our risk controls and their implementation across the business. Additionally, you will help improve the health and safety culture throughout the business and assist the business in aspiring to health and safety excellence.

Main Responsibilities
* Passionate about health & safety with a pragmatic problem-solving approach
* Responsible for setting policy and acting as a source of expert advice and guidance to the Business on relevant regulations.
* Updating and improving our health & safety policy documents as required
* Working to renew and maintain our OHSAS 18001 accreditation, hosting audits with customers as required.
* Conceiving and implementing initiatives such as newsletters, safety bursts, and toolbox talks to promote a positive safety culture across all locations.
* Conducting health & safety inductions for new staff
* Regular travel to each of our locations (including on-site) to raise the S&H profile, build relationships, conduct internal audits and promote the message.
* Networking and working with other S&H professionals around the Vinci Energies Group in the UK
* Providing effective and timely health & safety advice and information for staff and managers in the Unit to increase health and safety knowledge and understanding.
* Undertaking project and office audits as required; delivering safety training and incident investigations.
* Leading by example on all aspects of Health, Safety and Wellbeing
The Person
* IOSH (preferred)
* CMIOSH status (preferred)
* Knowledgeable and experienced in CDM 2015 regulations.
* Likely to have mechanical, engineering, or contracting for industry experience.
