Are you a visionary leader with a passion for driving results and innovation? Heidelberg Materials is on the hunt for a dynamic and strategic Managing Director to lead our UK Contracting business. This is your chance to shape national strategy, oversee operations, and steer our team towards achieving ambitious business development, sales and operational targets.

Leadership
1. Provide clear leadership in the Contracting business, constant strive for improvement and a competitive edge in delivering great service to our customers.
2. Manage direct reports using clearly outlined objectives, targets and performance measures which are reviewed regularly through a well-defined management cycle.
3. Consider the broader business objectives outside Contracting in decision making, taking into account the Heidelberg Materials UK strategy.
4. Be an active member of the Asphalt, MQP and Contracting business line Exec team in developing strategy and delivering an integrated service to customers.
5. Lead our efforts in delivering sustainable solutions using the latest digital technology.
Sales and Pipeline Management
1. Maintain excellent knowledge of the market, pipelines of work (including national highways, Local Authorities and major projects) and competitor activity.
2. Actively manage the customer portfolio and mix of projects.
3. Implement, manage and review monthly sales forecasts and order book positions.
4. Actively manage relationships in the industry with key clients.
Operational management
1. Ensure that safety remains the number one priority of the business.
2. Drive operational excellence across our teams who work primarily on highways sites, but also in other construction environments.
3. Ensure clear definition and continuous improvement in operational KPI’s.
4. Establish and maintain cross-business working relationships, promoting a “Working Together” ethos.
