You don't need previous experience in care to join our team as we recruit on values and transferable skills. We provide full training along with the opportunity for you to complete your SVQ. The Role You'll be joining a dynamic and lively team who provide support 15 individuals, 5 who reside centrally in a block of flats and others who live dispersed in the community either in their own homes or with family across the west of Paisley including Gallowhill and Seedhill. The people we support are all very different with their hobbies and likes, from attending college and music clubs to out for lunch with friends and watching football matches, every day is different. With your support you'll reduce social isolation, enable individuals maintain their independence and grow in confidence. We support a range of different needs including Autism, learning and physical disabilities, forensic, alcohol and drug related brain injuries and behaviours of concern. As a Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you'll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends. Some individuals have their own mobility cars and love going for a drive. It would be great if you have a full UK, manual driving licence but this isn't mandatory to join our team To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we'll need you to: Have an empathetic and caring nature. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confidence in using computers. Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own. Good organisational skills. Shift Patterns Our dedicated team provide support 24/7 or a 3-week rolling rota, where you will have one weekend off and 2 on. Shift patterns are varied and on a rotational basis which include earlies, lates, full days, sleepovers and night shifts. This role is predominantly lone working. The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours so for every sleepover you cover you will be paid an additional £90.40. During your shift you may be providing support between 1 to 6 individuals who all live close by but travel between supports is factored into your shift time.
