Therapy Senior Support Worker – Rehabilitation and Recovery Unit
An excellent opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Therapy Senior Support Worker with previous reablement experience in a community or acute setting to join the Rehabilitation and Recovery Unit at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
You will join a multidisciplinary team, working with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Rehabilitation supporting patients in a variety of settings including the community hospital, within their own homes or care homes.
You will work under guidance to support patients with a range of conditions, provide rehabilitation, and working with the team to support discharge planning. You will be working closely with the multidisciplinary team and community therapy teams, as well as social care colleagues to meet patients needs.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and conscientious individual to work with the established therapy teams. You will need to demonstrate high standards interpersonal and communication skills. You should be able to prioritise your workload, manage your time effectively, and work flexibly within the team.
We have a strong commitment to clinical supervision and continuing professional development (CPD), offering a supportive and proactive environment with opportunities for supervision, training and peer support, both locally and County wide.
The service is commissioned to cover 7 day working, 8am to 6pm.

Person Specification
Training and Qualifications
* 3 A-Levels or Health and Science (or equivalent) Or T-Level or equivalent level 3 qualification(s) and Functional Skills (level 2) Or a level 3 apprenticeship, such as the Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship (or other level 3 qualification pathway e.g. NVQ 3/BTEC equivalent in relevant healthcare subject or experience.
* Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the principles of rehabilitation.
Experience
* Evidence of significant experience working in a health or exercise related field in the NHS or equivalent.
* Experience of working with patient cohorts with varying abilities or needs.
* Experience working with older people.
Knowledge and Skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Able to work on own initiative and to manage a supervised caseload.
* Able to produce clear, concise and legible written communication.
* Able to work as part of a team & accept delegated tasks.
* Able to organise own workload.
* Able to work independently with guidance.
* Aware of own limitations.
