Data Scientist - Manchester Data Scientist with experience of creating financial models, machine learning, SQL, Python and forecasting experience is required by a leading company in Manchester. As the Data Scientist, you will be responsible for defining & shaping of all financial modelling and forecasting to enhance decision making, deliver more targeted acquisition, and deliver profitable growth. Tools wise they are using SQL, Python & R, so you should ideally have strong experience in these areas, especially SQL Any experience of Machine Learning would be a big advantage as this is an area that they want to move into, so something that will huge for them in the coming years Experience required Proven predictive modelling, forecasting and analytical experience with strong SQL, Python & R skills Some awareness of Machine Learning and the advantages of using machine learning to increase efficiency in the data moving forward Experience with ecommerce is ideal as you need to understand how they operate and what kind of models need to be produced Proficiency in data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis Able to articulate key messages and analysis outcomes clearly and concisely with a Pragmatic and analytical mind A strong academic record with a good honours degree or equivalent qualification in a numerical subject Extensive experience of completing complex data analysis and create proposals / provide recommendations on the back of analysis Any experience with Credit risk, risk assessment, Python, Machine Learning, SPSS, SAS, statistical or MI packages would be a bonus This Data Scientist role has lots of autonomy. For example, one project may be to look at risk profiles of customers, create models to forecast to which customers are going to give a better ROI and help define the overall strategy Data Scientist Responsibilities Responsible for the definition, shaping and ongoing maintenance of all financial modelling and forecasting to enhance decision making, deliver more targeted acquisition and ultimately deliver profitable growth. Undertake specialised analysis to model historical data and provide forecasts based on various industry-related metrics for a range of different propositions. Conduct scenario analysis based on various factors that will help to assess the risk Proactively recommend implement updates to financial models during periods of change Responsible for reviewing all financial models to arrive at preliminary conclusions and providing good quality and timely financial modelling advice to the business in a way that non-specialists can easily understand and absorb. Champion data quality and integrity, highlighting data quality issues and suggesting appropriate solutions.
