Our client is looking for a highly experienced Head of Sales to lead a dedicated team, drive market growth, and expand partnerships in the UK commercial vehicle sector. This role focuses on developing strategies to support the decarbonisation of fleet operations through low/zero-emission energy solutions, including electric charging, HVO, bio-CNG, and hydrogen. The Head of Sales will play a key role in shaping company strategy, managing key accounts, and guiding a growing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain long-term relationships with approximately 50 of the most significant commercial vehicle fleets in the UK. Use a consultative sales approach to understand their needs and communicate these insights to the business.
* Expand and lead the sales team, including hiring, setting objectives, managing KPIs, and motivating the team to achieve company goals. Initially, the team will include a Business Development Manager and a Sales Associate.
* Work closely with the Business Development Director to create detailed delivery plans that align with the company’s sales strategy. Provide feedback to the Senior Leadership Team to adapt the business plan as needed.
* Proactively manage partnerships with key stakeholders such as OEMs, leasing companies, and dealers to drive utilisation and sales at clean energy hubs.
* Manage the budget for industry event attendance, ensuring the company is well-represented at conferences and networking opportunities.
* Oversee the preparation of materials for customer engagements, investor presentations, and Board meetings. Maintain accurate records in the CRM system.
Skills and Qualifications
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience, with at least seven years in business development, sales, or marketing. Experience in the commercial vehicle or energy sectors is advantageous.
* Demonstrated skills in leading teams, setting strategic objectives, and achieving sales targets.
* Familiarity with decarbonisation and renewable energy solutions for the transport sector.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting to senior stakeholders and clients.
* Experience with CRM systems for tracking customer interactions and sales processes.
* Willingness to travel extensively within the UK, up to four days per week.
