About the role The Content and Discovery Senior Manager leads the Acquisition, Reading List, and Metadata teams, driving the future of how knowledge is accessed and delivered in both digital and physical formats. This is an essential role for the Library; you’ll be shaping our content journey, ensuring seamless integration of innovative technology and user-centred experiences. By building strong relationships with a diverse range of content providers and other stakeholders, you’ll deliver effective licensing, discovery, and access to a wide variety of scholarly materials. You’ll play a vital role in transforming how content is curated and consumed, ensuring the Library remains at the forefront of emerging trends in academic publishing, open access, and the evolving expectations of users. Leading a talented team of approximately 15 FTE, you’ll inspire continuous improvement and innovation making bold strides to enhance the Library’s impact. Operating with a multi-million-pound content budget, you’ll collaborate with colleagues in Procurement and across the University to secure a sustainable financial future, all while navigating the exciting challenges of an ever-changing information landscape. You’ll work with the Library Management Team to deliver on a Library vision that aligns with broader institutional strategy and shape the future of Library services. About you You're a skilled and knowledgeable professional with strong management abilities, you excel in organising projects, delegating tasks, and communicating complex information clearly to diverse audiences. Analytical and data-driven, you make informed decisions that add real value. A natural collaborator, you build relationships easily and have the influence and negotiation skills to drive results. You bring a customer-focused approach to information services, along with knowledge of copyright, licensing, and trends in library content management.
