Job overview
Exciting opportunities have arisen within Manchester Vascular Centre!
Manchester Vascular Centre is a 46 bedded, mixed sex ward that provides acute in-patient care for patients pre and post vascular surgical procedures and sits within the Cardiovascular (CVS) CSU at MRI. In our function as the Greater Manchester Vascular Hub, we provide care to patients from across the Greater Manchester region including South, North and Central Manchester area, Salford, Bolton, Tameside and Macclesfield. The ward is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and admits patients for emergency and elective procedures.
As part of an excellent MDT, including specialist nurses, an Advance Clinical Practitioner and a specialist therapy team, we ensure that patients across the Greater Manchester Area receive care which is evidence-based and of the highest standard.
Common procedures that our patients have on the ward range from revascularisation of critical limb ischaemia, either with medication (such as Heparin or TPA) or surgery, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repair including EVAR (Endo Vascular Aneurysm Repair), Carotid Surgery to prevent stroke and patients having minor or major limb amputations.
Due to the complex needs of our patients, our staff have developed knowledge of multiple specialities with an emphasis on complex wound care, often providing advice and assistance to other clinical areas especially in the use of topical negative pressure (Vac Therapy) and larval therapy.
