Job Summary
Facilities Management Project Delivery (FMPD) are a Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Team within the Commercial directorate who conduct strategic analysis and review of future requirements in DIO to develop delivery options. The team lead in developing strategic solutions and work with Commercial colleagues to convert strategy into effective and efficient contracts, for facilities management and other estate services. FMPD identify the scope for wider support across DIO business to help enable effective operating capability.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job Description
The Post Holder is responsible to the Assistant Project Manager for the delivery and development of respective programme strategies of the project in accordance with approved timescales. The Project Support Manager will be responsible for providing project support to the Project Team in addition to the management of the tasks outlined below.
Duties required of the Project Support Manager will include but not be limited to:
* Identifying and developing requirements documentation;
* Identifying and developing programme governance documentation;
* Working with FMPD Risk Managers to ensure allocated Risks, Issues and Opportunities are managed effectively;
* Working with subject matter authorities to assist in the development and delivery of respective Programme Strategies (e.g. Procurement, Commercial, Communications, People);
* Contribute to the effective management of a wide range of customers and partners including Cabinet Office, Ministry of Defence (MoD) Head Office and other areas of MoD as well as supporting effective engagement with Industry suppliers;
* Other duties may include acting as Secretary to various meetings, maintaining Programme associated documentation and contributing to the production of papers for consideration by the Programme Board and Programme Delivery Group.

The successful candidate will need to be a team player with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
