About The Role The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and management of planned survey and inspection programmes across the Severn Trent Water framework. The role will oversee the delivery of a variety of wastewater asset surveys, ensuring compliance with programme milestones, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. This includes but is not limited to CSO (Combined Sewer Overflow) surveys, ancillary asset inspections, and wastewater network condition assessments. A strong focus is placed on programme delivery, survey compliance, data accuracy, and ensuring timely submission of CCTV footage and condition reports to Severn Trent Water Location: Split between Derby and Stafford Responsibilities Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance Financial & Commercial Performance Customer Experience & Engagement Stakeholder & Client Engagement Represent the business in performance reviews, progress meetings, and strategic planning sessions with Severn Trent Water Project / Programme Delivery and Operational Oversight Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of wastewater asset surveys, ensuring adherence to programme timelines and client specifications. Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of works, including CCTV pipeline inspections, flow surveys, infiltration surveys, and sewer rehabilitation assessments. Ensure accurate data collection and timely submission of survey reports, pre- and post-rehabilitation footage, and condition assessments. Implement strategies to optimise field resource utilisation, minimising downtime and improving productivity. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and improve efficiency. Maintain full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) regulations, ensuring that all site activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Severn Trent Water standards. Conduct and oversee regular risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions where necessary. Promote a strong safety culture across all operational teams, reinforcing adherence to safe working practices Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control, resource efficiency, and financial performance align with contract requirements. Work closely with commercial teams to ensure cost-effective programme delivery while maintaining service quality. Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost reductions without compromising on compliance or performance. Ensure minimal disruption to customers and communities while conducting survey activities. Coordinate with customer liaison teams to provide clear communication and engagement where access is required. Ensure project teams are briefed on customer-related concerns to maintain a positive perception of Severn Trent Water. Act as the key point of contact for Severn Trent Water regarding planned survey programmes. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners. Experience And Qualifications Required For The Role Extensive experience in wastewater asset surveys, including CCTV condition surveys, flow monitoring, and network infiltration assessments. Experience in long-term contract/framework agreements Strong leadership experience managing field-based teams in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment. In-depth knowledge of the wastewater industry, pipeline infrastructure, and asset inspection methodologies. Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills with a focus on programme performance. Steady commercial acumen, budget awareness, and a track record of delivering a cost-effective approach. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across operational sites. Demonstratable knowledge of relevant transport and safety regulations, including those associated with working in confined spaces, operating vehicles and equipment and managing hazardous waste.
