An amazing opportunity has arisen to work with a dynamic Social Work Team in one of Scotland’s most beautiful landscapes.
As one of the largest local authority areas in Scotland, the Health and Social Care Partnerships aims to promote social welfare and provide effective care and support to meet the assessed needs of individuals in Argyll and Bute.
This exciting opening to join our dedicated Social Work Team (Adult Community Care Team) involves undertaking both community and permanent care reviews to ensure that assessed needs are identified and people’s supports are aligned appropriately with our Priority of Need Framework.
You will have a good understanding of the current health and social care landscape, self-directed support, and the value of outcomes-focused supports for people to enable them to live in their communities. Recognizing the value of forming effective relationships with other professionals and agencies is essential.
The HSCP welcomes applications from highly motivated, experienced qualified Social Workers.
The service promotes the ability for staff to work in a Hybrid manner between our office base and home working, while ensuring that the needs of the service are met.

Working out of our base in Dunoon, the aim of the Cowal Adult Community Care Team is to promote social welfare and provide effective care and support to meet the needs of vulnerable people.
In partnership with the community resource team, health colleagues, and various third sector agencies, we strive to offer a range of services designed to enable, support, improve, and protect the health and social care of people using our services.
You will provide an effective assessment and care management service incorporating relevant statutory duties. This role involves undertaking casework, partnership working, and providing professional advice and guidance to individuals, families, and groups within the community. The successful candidate will be required to provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to complete all formal and informal reports and case notes, which must be of a high standard. You should demonstrate an ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds and gain their trust to help them get the best from our services.
You should be able to handle a variety of situations with tact, patience, and understanding, assessing and coping with these situations in a sensitive and non-judgmental way.
All applicants must be registered or in the process of registering with the Scottish Social Services Council and hold a DipSW, CQSW, Honors Degree in Social Work, or Post Graduate in Social Work.
