RSK Ireland, part of RSK Group, are recruiting a dedicated and passionate Ecology Project Manager who has a passion for their discipline and strong organisational skills to join our growing ecology team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse, energetic and supportive ecology team, with the potential to manage projects more widely in the environmental sector, if desired. This is an ideal role for a confident and competent ecologist who would like to develop in an office-based project management and coordination direction.
This role is permanent, with flexible full time work patterns available, such as compressed hours. This will be a hybrid role offering homeworking and based from any of our RSK Ireland offices in Belfast, Dublin or Cork
This is predominantly an office/home based role, although there are opportunities to undertake fieldwork and support the wider ecology team.
Key Responsibilities:
* To lead and be the main point of contact with clients on the projects you manage.
* Contributing to technical aspects of live tenders and bids for new work
* Managing ecology projects, including the timely technical review and delivery of reports and survey outputs.
* Coordinating and scheduling field survey programs involving our staff and subcontractors.
* Overseeing ecology team workload and foreseeing future work patterns.
* Overseeing a team of five ecologists
* Effectively manage projects, including budgetary oversight, client relationships and technical report deliverables.
Person Specification:
* Hold a relevant degree or equivalent level of ecological skills and knowledge
* Good understanding of the technical aspects of ecological consultancy as well as commercial awareness.
* Competence in all aspects of ecology surveys and report writing
* Highly organised, IT literate with good numeracy skills; and experienced in using common MS office software packages.
* A strong communicator.
* Dynamic and motivated.
* Able to lead and motivate a project team.
* Able to work under time pressure, and to quickly adapt to changing work requirements.
* Conscientious and have attention to detail
* Mentorship or managerial experience – desirable
* Managing and coordinating project teams – desirable
* Previous work on large infrastructure/renewable projects – desirable
* Hold a relevant professional membership or be working towards it – desirable
