As Forces Covenant civilian employment support providers for Service leavers and Veterans, Carbon60 - one of the UK's Top 25 Veteran Employers - are proud to work in partnership with STS Aviation Services on an exciting new programme designed to create exciting post-service careers for ex-forces talent.
Utilising the recruitment expertise and experience of Carbon60, STS - specialists in comprehensive aircraft maintenance, engineering, and modification solutions - are searching for ex-military personnel to join their Forces to Civilian Transition Programme 2025.
This programme provides fantastic opportunities to kickstart a career at one of the leading engineering companies in the global aviation industry, gain vital experience and, most importantly, transition into civilian life with the security and support employment provides.
There are multiple places in the programme available, and Carbon60 are recruiting on behalf of STS Aviation Services now ahead of a programme start date in 2025.
If you wish to apply, or find out more information, please do get in touch.
The Roles and Entry Requirements
The Forces to Civilian Transition Programme 2025 is only available to individuals with existing fixed-wing or rotary aircraft experience. However, these individuals don't have to be in the Armed Forces currently and can apply even if they are already in post-military employment elsewhere.
For the spaces available, STS are searching for people currently without a UK CAA B1 Licence but are ex-military personnel or in the process of leaving the military with a minimum of 3 years aircraft maintenance experience, who will join at step one of the programme and work in a live environment from day one.
As part of this training, Carbon60 will provide an opportunity to complete CAA Part-66 Category B licence modules whilst performing OJT in a live hanger environment. This will include a 22-week classroom-based course for obtaining the B license (the 22-week course will be split over the duration of the programme), followed by a type rating course on a wide body aircraft.
A hangar-based OJT with a global MRO will also be arranged and provide by Carbon60, for you to complete your CAA CAP 741 Logbook ready for application to the CAA.
Regardless of their role, every individual will be provided with all the support, guidance and advice needed to ensure an effective, enjoyable and successful transition of military personnel to civilian employment.
Where are STS recruiting?
The individuals joining step one of the programme will be required to be based in Birmingham for the OJT phase with Carbon60.
Those with an existing UK CAA B1 Licence have the option to join STS at Manchester Airport or Birmingham Airport.
Think you're ready for this opportunity?
Then we want to hear from you! Carbon60 and STS are proud to offer this opportunity to our Veterans and Ex-Forces personnel, and keen to help talented, dedicated and deserving individuals the chance to not only kickstart an exciting new civilian career, but also help engineer the future of aviation.
