Job summary
The Clinical Fellows are expected to work together as a team. Each will work with a consultant or pair of consultants. The Fellow will also be expected to co-operate with and develop good working relationships with junior doctors in other departments, as well as maintain good working relationships with the departmental nursing staff, the staff in diagnostic departments, and the physiotherapy departments.
Main duties of the job
You will be based at Wrightington Hospital with clinical commitments at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary and Leigh Infirmary. Wrightington is a name familiar to all Orthopaedic Surgeons, following the studies in total hip joint replacement that were carried out by the late Professor Sir John Charnley. We are located 5 miles north west of Wigan, situated just half a mile from junction 27 off the M6 motorway.
Applications are invited for a Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship post at Wrightington Hospital to commence August 2026. This post is for a duration of 12 months. These posts do not attract a National Training Number (NTN) but do have SAC approval and are aimed at Specialist Registrars who have neared completion of their training and want Fellowship experience in Hip and Knee arthroplasty Surgery.

* Evidence of experience in lower limb arthroplasty / complex revisions demonstrated by a log book
