An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Performance and Delivery division which sits within the Directorate of the Chief Operating Officer. The Directorate of the Chief Operating Officer, NHS Scotland is responsible for developing Health & Social Care Policy for the people of Scotland. The Directorate supports the NHS to achieve the best health and care outcomes for people by supporting NHS Scotland in delivering key performance targets. This is a fast-paced, high profile business area involving close interaction with Ministers and Officials across DG Health and NHS Scotland in order to support Health Board performance and improvement. This role supports the work of the Planned Care and Unscheduled Care Policy Teams in the management of both A&E and Planned Care waiting times performance, winter performance and providing strategic and analytical support to the delivery of our key priorities set out in the policy prospectus. You will also work closely with the Centre for Sustainable Delivery (CfSD), focusing on how the CfSD workplan can support Health Board improvement activity. The Performance & Strategic Hub Lead also have business management responsibilities for the division, which supports the delivery of corporate and Ministerial objectives. Responsibilities Working with the Hub Team and wider division, managing the regular performance management process and improvement discussions with Territorial Health Boards and the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital. Support performance management through analysis of performance returns from Boards, identifying trends and pressure points as well as feeding into discussions around intelligence to understand system pressures. Lead on tracking our corporate and Ministerial responsibilities ensuring performance remains in line with targets. Build and maintain effective relationships with the Centre for Sustainable Delivery (CfSD) to improve Board performance, gathering intelligence on key issues and pressures. Support the Division’s response to Covid Inquiry, working with policy leads to ensure all asks are responded to efficiently and to deadlines. Support a range of business management tasks including divisional business planning and risk management processes and provide divisional resilience for MiCases, briefings etc. as required, co-ordinating business as usual briefings and managing contribution requests from the Division. Line managing 1 business support officer within the Divisional Strategic Hub. Work with business support officer to oversee the administration function of the team, ensuring processes are robust and continuous improvement is undertaken.
