Emotional Support Worker - Oxford

The role of an Emotional Support Worker is a special one! You will be providing direct support and assistance to students in the classroom who struggle with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, OCD, school avoidance, stress, and anxiety. You will provide assistance in either 1 to 1 settings or in small groups, offering interventions that help support the children and teach them healthy ways to cope and regulate their emotions.
In addition, you will help with the general running of the classroom, which includes:
1. Assisting the class teacher with lesson setup
2. Preparing lessons
3. Maintaining a tidy and inviting classroom environment
4. General supervision and managing classroom behavior
The ideal Emotional Support Worker will be kind, compassionate, and passionate about helping children. You should be proactive, take initiative, and be able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of the children, many of whom have education and health care plans.
Key requirements:
1. Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorships offered)
2. An enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one
