Promote and maintain a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment for patients and their families. To contribute to and participate in clinical audit and research programmes. To participate in area/departmental improvements/ projects. Participate in audits, questionnaire development and focus groups that help to engage parents and carers and improve the quality of care provided. To provide up to date information for families in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary professional team and directed by the qualified nurse. To undertake liaison with other staff and outside agencies to ensure continuity of care as directed by the qualified nurse. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, both detailed and legible. Always ensure patient and family confidentiality in line with NMC guidelines. To participate in an effective communication system, which ensures that a team approach to family centred care is encouraged and adopted.
