We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Senior Sister/ Senior Charge Nurse and Ward Manager for the Christiansen Unit.
Our 16 bedded unit is an exciting and dynamic unit that looks after patient's from a variety of different medical specialities, working with array of allied health professionals.
You must be able to demonstrate extensive post registration education and have excellent interpersonal skills with a vision to develop existing services to the next level.
You will need to have strong leadership skills to both initiate and support change and work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team not just within the Wexham Park Hospital but with the wider health and social care.
You will possess clinical expertise and be able to lead and advise on patient’s plans and treatments of care accessing the resources around you to optimise safety. You will be expected to have the desire to influence and promote change.
You will have evidence of professional development and promote evidenced based practice within your role.
You will be supported by the Matron for your own professional development and growth alongside professional opportunities and courses, 1:1s and a peer support team who work closely within the building.
JOB SUMMARY:
• Responsible and accountable for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision
• Act as a role model both in clinical expertise and clinical leadership
• To lead and monitor the performance and standards of care within the Nursing Team
• Plan and deliver interventions and treatments when there are complex issues and / or serious illness. Ensure care is given in accordance with accepted standards and guidelines i.e., professional guidance from NMC or similar body
• To take the lead on projects as appropriate
• Develop oneself and others in areas of practice. Keep up to date with professional issues, maintain a professional portfolio and actively participate in the performance review programme. Recognise own limitations and professional responsibility, and seek help, training and support where necessary
• In conjunction with the Matron and other Charge Nurses, facilitate the development of the service and personal development of all nursing staff within the clinical area of responsibility
• To deputise for the Matron in their absence, attending appropriate meetings, maintaining an organised and structured workforce.
