A well-established accountancy practice in Bristol is looking for a Tax Assistant Manager to join their team. Role Responsibilities
* Managing a varied portfolio of corporate and individual clients, ensuring a high level of service and expert tax advice
* Assisting in tax compliance, including reviewing complex CT computations prepared by the general practice team
* Supporting the day-to-day management of the tax department, including workflow planning and staff development
* Mentoring junior team members, helping them develop their tax knowledge and skills
* Building strong relationships with clients, managing tax-only client relationships, and attending client meetings
* Staying up to date with UK tax legislation and industry trends, ensuring compliance and identifying tax planning opportunities
* Assisting in tax-related forensic assignments, including drafting reports for clients
* Working on owner-managed business tax planning, including R&D claims, share structuring, share-for-share exchanges, and corporate reorganisations

Candidate Requirements
* Strong corporate and personal tax knowledge, with experience in compliance and advisory work
* Experience in an assistant manager or manager role, with a track record of managing client relationships
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and senior stakeholders confidently
* A proactive and strategic mindset, with a keen interest in developing client relationships and identifying opportunities
* Strong leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and training junior staff
* Proficiency in accounting and tax software, as well as Microsoft Office
