Job Description:
One of the UK's largest Property Management companies, Residential Management Group, has an opportunity for an experienced Fire Safety Coordinator, reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, providing direct support to the Fire Safety Manager.
The Fire Safety Coordinator will be the first point of contact for all fire safety and building safety enquiries, responsible for initiating responses to all enquiries from employees, clients, contractors, and visitors, where competent to do so.
Although predominantly homebased, ideally you will be centrally located, offering flexibility to travel to North sites (including Scotland) or South sites (including London) at short notice.
Responsibilities include:
* Being the first point of contact for fire and building safety matters, providing advice where competent; managing fire safety enquiries and involving the FSM on complex issues.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation, assisting with bespoke employee training.
* Maintaining a library of fire safety and technical information.
* Attending fire and health and safety committee meetings as necessary.
* Providing data for reports.
* Providing advice following enforcement notices and managing these on the central system.
* Supporting Building Safety Case reports through assessments of HRBs from fire and structural perspectives.
* Assisting with audits by FRS.
Qualifications and experience:
* Post-qualification experience in Fire, M&E, Construction, FM, or Property Management.
* Knowledge of Building Safety Act, regulations, guidance, Building Regulations, Approved Document B, Housing Act, RRFSO, and related H&S legislation.
* Nebosh fire certificate or working towards Fire Diploma.
* Nebosh Certificate in Occupational H&S.
* Tech IOSH or higher, membership of IFE.
Preferred skills:
* Commercial acumen, organizational skills, project management, analytical research skills.
* Decision-making ability, risk identification, and reporting mechanisms.
* Building or structural surveying experience is highly beneficial.
