As the Facilities Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the service facility, overseeing building maintenance, health & safety compliance, and contractor management. You will be responsible for coordinating office and facility moves, handling reactive maintenance requests, managing utilities contracts, and supporting fire risk assessments, all while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency are maintained.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized, proactive individual with a background in facilities management and a strong focus on Health & Safety. You will work closely with a variety of internal teams, external contractors, and senior management, contributing to the ongoing improvement of the facility and its operations.
What You Will Be Doing:
* Coordinating Facilities Operations: Oversee building maintenance, contractor management, and coordinate preventative maintenance schedule, ensuring the highest standards are maintained across all Makita premises.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Monitor, report, and ensure adherence to all Health & Safety policies, reporting any non-compliance to senior management.
* Managing Office & Facility Moves: Coordinate office and facility relocations or changes, ensuring minimal disruption and smooth transitions.
* Maintenance Management: Handle reactive maintenance requests, prioritize and action them effectively to maintain operational efficiency.
* Supporting Fire Risk Assessments: Assist with fire risk assessments and ensure timely completion of related actions.
* Managing Utilities & Energy Contracts: Oversee utilities and energy contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.
* Records and Inspections: Maintain accurate records for equipment and facilities, arrange regular inspections, and ensure compliance with PUWER and other regulations.
* SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) Support: Provide administrative support for SHE meetings and support audits and inspections.

* Previous experience in facilities management, managing building maintenance and contractor coordination.
* Health & safety knowledge to ensure all processes are compliant and safe for staff and visitors.
* Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Problem-solving abilities to think on your feet and quickly resolve issues.
* Excellent communication – written and verbal with cultural sensitivity and awareness.
* High attention to detail.
* Sustainability awareness and cost-efficiency is highly desirable.
