This leading UK Landscape Contractor requires an experienced Operations Manager with a background within Landscaping and an understanding of the industry. As the successful candidate, you will be covering the south of the UK, with attendance to the East Sussex office one or two days a week, and site visits to locations across the main areas of the UK such as Bristol, Nottingham, and East Anglia when required.
As the successful candidate, you will have experience running soft landscaping with a turnover of £10m per annum and be responsible for the following:
Core Duties:
1. Management of Contracts Managers and operations support staff to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
2. Management of operational processes to achieve targets.
3. Ability to work with commercial management to issue accurate information to clients and Directors and senior managers.
4. Client liaison to meet expectations in relation to project completion and additional work opportunities.
5. Oversee day-to-day operational running of the company.
6. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve productivity and efficiency.
7. Overall control and responsibility of labour spending and allocation.
8. Team coordination and effective communication across management and teams.
9. Capable of resolving operational issues, with prompt action taken when required.
10. Monitoring performance and taking prompt action when required.
11. Manage projects according to budgets and targets as required by the business.
12. Understand Health and Safety legislation and lead with a safety-first approach to manage risk.
13. Manage in accordance with the business’s quality and environmental management system, ensuring compliance practice and records are maintained within the operations team.
14. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other external partners.
15. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the operations team.
16. Overall responsibility for quality of works produced and maintaining client satisfaction.
